The Book of Revelation: "A Sea of Glass, Like Crystal" ~ Length: 26:48

Where does this “sea of glass, like crystal” come from? We can easily understand that it comes from the throne of God. Revelation 22:1 reads, “Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life – water as clear as crystal – pouring out from the throne of God and of the Lamb,…”. I think it is quite obvious where this, “something like a sea of glass, like crystal” comes from. Revelation, more than any other book in the Bible possess much!, descriptive language since most of what is found in this book defies accurate, literal description! One obvious marker is the would “like”. Look how it is phrased here in Revelation 4:6. It is also spoken the exact same way in Revelation 15:2! Revelation 4:6 and Revelation 15:2 uses the phrase, “something, like”. John Wesley's Notes on the Bible “And before the throne is a sea as of glass, like crystal – Wide and deep, pure and clear, transparent and still. Both the "seven lamps of fire" and this sea are before the throne; and both may mean "the seven spirits of God," [SPECIFICALLY] the Holy Ghost; whose powers and operations are frequently represented both under the emblem of fire and of water.” At the very least, we can easily understand, the sea is two things. It is first and foremost the totality and completeness of the Holy Spirit expressed as, “The seven spirits of God”. It is also the Gospel. We hope you find this study most instructive.
