The Book of Revelation ~ Laying a Foundation ~ Length: 32:53

It should also be noted, the subject of salvation in Christ will come up frequently throughout this series as many passages and verses spur such thoughts. Those of you who are saved please bear with these moments for the sake of those whom we also seek to reach who are, unsaved. This is the start of a multi-part series, in The Book of Revelation. While there are many good messages that can be derived from the Letters to the Seven Churches, there is still a greater depth and connection. In this part we need to lay down a foundation in order to better see and understand. Revelation 1:1 reads, “[1] The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must happen very soon. He made it clear by sending his angel to his servant John...”. So The Book of Revelation, or... more importantly, its content was handed down to Jesus who then gave it John. It is no stretch of the means at all to say that the content of The Book of Revelation is sourced in the Father. Notice the similar pattern as in John 5:20 and John 14:12. Jamieson Fausset Brown Bible Commentary sheds light on some VERY! necessary things we need to know! It reads, Quote... “Revelation—an apocalypse or unveiling of those things which had been veiled. A manifesto of the kingdom of Christ. The travelling manual of the Church for the Gentile Christian times. Not a detailed history of the future, but a representation of the great epochs and of chief powers in developing the kingdom of God in relation to the world. Revelation is to teach us to understand the times, not the times to interpret to us the Apocalypse... The book is in a series of parallel groups, not in chronological succession. We are presently, in church history, in the fulfillment of The Gentile Times before the Jewish and Old Testament prophecy of the 70th week is set in motion. This delay, so to speak, is the slowness Peter is talking about in 2 Peter 3:9. Therefore!, this is why the modern day church, the very House of God, is in such ill repute! We are N – O – T! using The Book of Revelation as our, “Travelling manual of the Church for the Gentile Christian times.” of which, we are living in now!, as we wait in the apparent slowness of God, as some think.
